Climbing wall in Stjørdal open for action

Sunday February 12th was the official opening and inauguration day of the fantastic sport s arena in Stjørdal. Stjørdal is located approximately 35 kilometres north of Trondheim. The municipality has approximately 22 000 inhabitants and this is also where you find the rapidly expanding airport for the region.
The new sports hall has a floor area of 7900 m2 and has a price of 145 million NOK.
A part of the huge sports centre is designed for climbing only. It is the local climbers themselves who have designed the wall and decided the striking colours but it is obviously Top30 who has produced and installed the walls.
The complete facility is built using our Top Wave 2.0 panels and has a height of > 13 meters and is equipped with 18 top anchors. The sections on the right and left hand side are linked in the middle making it possible to traverse the wall.
Perhaps the most significant section of the facility is the speed wall. The 10 m wall is actually the first officially approved wall of its kind in Norway. Top30 is one of a (by IFSC) selected few manufacturers of speed walls and holds.

In addition the facility houses a huge bouldering cave with a climbable surface of around 120 m2. The height goes up to 4 meters.
Top30 has supplied the facility with more than a thousand climbing holds and additionally a campus board and a brand new Penguin fingerboard.
We have also equipped the hall with a safety floor consisting of rubber tiles and the floor in the bouldering section is of course delivered with high-density fall protection mats.
The internationally renowned climber, Magnus Midtbø took part during the opening days and showed the hundreds of spectators how one of the best climbers in the world hangs around.
On Saturday it was time for the first unofficial Norwegian Speed climbing championship and open days for the people of Stjørdal. And especially the kids flocked to the new and impressive climbing facility.
