Having a climbing facility was one of the most repeated demands by climbers in the area and finally after years of requests, proposals and meetings with the City Council, the persistence has paid off.
In connection with an upgrade of a local park area (Parque Alces) it was decided to implement a climbing facility. The result is a freestanding wall 7 meters high, which has a platform on top. From there runs a zip line (flying fox) to another but smaller "tower" some 35 meters away.
Both structures have been constructed using 3D Real Rock panels and the two are anchored to platforms of reinforced concrete. The Technical department of Top30 have designed and calculated the installation in accordance with the parameters set by the European norm EN 12572.
At the base of both "walls", to protect against potential falls, we have placed a safety floor consisting of 40 mm thick rubber tiles made of recycled (car) tires.
For adequate route setting, a collection of 500 holds has been included.
