San Esteban de Gormaz is a municipality in the province of Soria in the autonomous community of Castile-Leon and located halfway between Madrid and Bilbao. Its population is approximately 3,500. The village (or town) lies between the bank of River Duero and a small hill, 70 km east of the capital of the province (Soria). The Arab Gormaz Castle is located nearby and so is a brand new climbing wall, delivered by Top30. The climbing wall is installed inside the municipal sports hall and is a result of an initiative from the mountain and climbing associations in the region. The artificial climbing installation is produced using our Top Wave panels; an innovative solution (exclusive in Spain) providing multifunctional solutions using friction coated plywood panels. The shapes, angels and inclinations we can create with this product are a world apart from the traditional box type solutions. The relatively small wall will definitely satisfy the initial needs but we predict an extension, which there is plenty of room for.
The wall is equipped with approximately 150 climbing holds and already in use by the children who participate in the summer camps organized in and around the region.
