Boticas climbing structure (Portugal)

Boticas in Portugal is known for the famous vinho dos mortos, the "wine of the dead" but more so for the anthropomorphic monolith excavated in the 17th centrury, resembling the Galician warrior Viriathus. Viriathus (known as Viriato in Portuguese and Spanish) (? - 138 BC) was the most important leader of the Lusitanian people that resisted Roman expansion into the regions of Western Hispania  (as the Romans would call it), where the Roman province of Lusitania would be established (in the areas comprising Portugal, south of the Douro river, and Extremadura in Spain). Viriathus led the Lusitanians to several victories over the Romans between 147 BC and 139 BC before he was betrayed to the Romans and killed.

Based on the old find, pictures and drawings Top30 has created an amazing climbable sculpture, 8 meters high and made with 3D Real Rock panels and with a platform on top from which one can e.g. abseil. The platform is reached by a staircase. For creating routes, Top30 has delivered around 300 holds, many of them from the new i-holds collection. The climbing structure is anchored to a concrete platform - everything calculated by the Technical Department of Top30 and according to the parameters of the UNE EN 12572 norm.
